Multiple homages to other pieces of media can be found in A Way Out.
Prison[]

Several homages to media such as the 1994 American movie The Shawshank Redemption[1] and the American television series Prison Break[2] can be noticed during the first chapter.
Campsite[]
Chapter 2: Fugitives – Breather
Voices heard during an optional cutscene at this location are an audio homage to Josef Fares’ game Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons[3]
Roy & Roger's Gas Station[]
Chapter 3: Preparation – Stick Up
This gas station’s name is a reference to the 1986 Swedish comedy show known as Macken. The plot follows the story of two brothers, Roy and Roger, who run a small repair shop and gas station. The show was later adapted into a movie, Macken – Roy's & Roger's Bilservice, in 1990 and a play, Macken – TV-serien på scen, in 2016. [4]
